Join Andy Shaw Ford 10/7/11 At Smoky Mountain High For “Drive One 4 Ur School”
Once again Andy Shaw Ford of Sylva has been able to bring Ford Motor Company’s “Drive One 4UR School” Program to Jackson County.
On October 7 the event will be held at Smoky Mountain High School from 8 AM to 6 PM. This year the potential for increased funding is significantly higher than years past. The basic formula will still be used: a $20 donation will be made by Andy Shaw Ford and Ford Motor Company for each of the first 300 test drives of a new Ford vehicle. However, if 200 of those same drivers take an additional test drive in the newly redesigned 2012 Focus an additional $2000 will be donated. During that same time frame students will be producing a video which features the new Focus and if chosen as a winner, the School can win an additional $7000 for a total of $15,000. “I am really excited about this year’s program and the increased funding,” said Larry Hinton, General Manager of Andy Shaw Ford. “It’s a great way for our High School to get some desperately needed money,” he added. Principal Jay Grissom echoed Hinton’s remarks when he said, “We can certainly put the money, all $15,000 of it, to good use.”
All community members are encouraged to come out on the 7th and Drive One 4 “Their” School.
