Benefits For Jackie Balliot Memorial Day Weekend 2012
Two benefits are scheduled this weekend in support of Jackie Balliot. Jackie is a 15
year old Smoky Mountain High School student who has been battling osteosarcoma since January 2012.

Benefit 1:
Luau at the Lake will be held Saturday May 26th from 2 to 8 PM at Laughing Trout Camp on Bear Lake. Cost is $12.95 for adults and free for children ages 12 and under. Live music by Maggie and the Romantics, kayak instruction and demonstrations, and a drawing to win kayaking sessions are all part of the activities scheduled. Pulled pork is for dinner and will be served at 5:30. Call 828-293-1000 for tickets – reservations are required.

Farm-raiser in Cullowhee will be held at Avant Garden Farm and Venue and will begin at 4PM on Saturday, May 26th and continue through 11AM on Sunday morning.
All local performances include a reunion show by former local band “Word of Mouth”, Cullowhee/WCU reggae band “PMA” (Positive Mental Attitude), short films by Josh Hartigan, music by localmusicians “Uncle Don’s Band”, a DJ set by “Hypnic Jerk”, and a late-night acoustic, quiet show by farmhouse musicians “The Duncan-Metz Folk Revival Band”. In-between sets, brand new local band “Where’s Mike Jones” will keep the locomotive rolling for us. And on top of all this we will have FIRE-BREATHING, Tarot Reading and Balloon Tying for kids young and old!

And playing as many set-changes as they like: The “Where’s Mike Jones Band?!”
